Everything is possible in the pink room .... do you dare?

About the Project

New York City, second decade of the twentieth century. The sale of alcohol is prohibited and the so-called "speakeasy" or clandestine slums, bars behind closed doors, exclusive and where only a few have access. The imprint left by these clandestine spaces was such that since then all cities have their exclusive secret bar, and Malaga was not going to be less.
The clueless pedestrian will run into a small pastrami sandwich bar , although when you open the bathroom door ... everything changes.

In the lounge you can have a cocktail, a snack, enjoy a live performance or wait until the night comes and the exclusive lighting will surprise you again. If you dare, you can go beyond the red curtain: the pink room, where the set of lights and mirrors, its curved roof or a VIP area that is accessed through a very peculiar entrance, make the visit an experience that will not leave anyone indifferent.

What’s unique about it

From our study we assumed from the outset that we had to get out of the conventional, design thinking about a clandestine club concept involved a series of creative challenges, such as the one that led to the lighting of the entire premises: coffered ceiling made to measure that conceals lamps that can move rhythmically or remain fixed. Or a roof of square boxes that curves to melt with the back of the bar, in which each case is a lamp that changes color and intensity. As for vertical coverings, we chose economical, versatile and resistant materials to which all its aesthetic potential has been taken out: mirrors, vinyl coverings, lattices, metal curtains, stone or fabric.

The keyword to define Pastrami Club is 'surprise'. It is considered surprising from the outside, through the pastrami sandwiches bar, or with access to the club through the gentlemen's bathroom where everything is upside down, or when you find the lounge and its unique play of lights or its Exclusive bar, or when entering beyond the red curtain and enjoy the exclusive pink room, or when entering through the VIP access and think that you have entered hell. In short, surprise with a different narrative at different levels.
