Nominated for: Client of the Year

Bloomberg Hq Foster 01

Bloomberg Headquarters in London by Foster+Partners

Why they’ve been nominated

While many companies were still busy fitting out one-campus-offers-all workspaces filled with Silicon Valley stereotypes such as slides and bold graphics, Bloomberg was creating the world's most sustainable office building. And the company ensured it was enlightening for its employees as it is for the environment by filling it with world-class works of art by the likes of Olafur Eliasson and Pae White. The office adapts to new ways of working with clusters of bespoke adjustable workstations that allow for various configurations. A triple-helix ramp that runs smoothly between floors is a spatial manifestation of collaboration, interaction and connectivity, themes inherent to Bloomberg. The office sits on the new Bloomberg Arcade, which aims to connect the building’s 4,000 employees with their urban surroundings, drawing them out of the building and into the hospitality amenities: a reversal of the introspective approach that marks many of Bloomberg’s Silicon Valley counterparts.
